NVision Named 2009 “Mississippi Company to Watch”

The Mississippi Technology Alliance and the Edward Lowe Foundation named NVision Solutions, Inc. as a “Mississippi Company to Watch” award recipient for 2009. MTA will present the award to NVision President and CEO Socorro A. Harvey, at the Second Annual Innovators Hall of Fame Awards Gala on June 2 in Jackson, Miss.

NVision is a leader in Mississippi’s geospatial industry specializing in a new generation of geospatial decision support solutions for energy, defense, agriculture, government, and economic development.

“We are extremely pleased to be recognized as one of Mississippi’s Companies to Watch,” said Harvey, “This award is acknowledgement of our innovative approaches to the challenges not just facing our company but also those facing our customers, our community, and our country.”

NVision incorporated in 2002 and is small, minority, woman-owned, disadvantaged 8(a) firm. NVision employs 56 people along the Gulf Coast between New Orleans, Lou. and Biloxi, Miss. serving customers nationwide.

The “Mississippi Companies to Watch” award program recognizes second-stage startup companies distinguishing themselves by their “innovative products” and “unique processes.” The competition was created by the Edward Lowe Foundation in Cassopolis, Mich. Companies are judged for their “special strengths” which revolve around a company’s innovative products and business practices, special use of technology, work within their community and more.
