Brett Thomassie, Director for U.S. Federal Civilian Government Programs at DigitalGlobe, will be our speaker at the Lunch & Learn. DigitalGlobe, a world leader in providing satellite imagery to government and commercial clients, will present information on their newest WorldView2 satellite, which allows high resolution and provides remotely-sensed data for a variety of applications. DigitalGlobe imagery is frequently featured on news programs when a “zoom-in” of a location is needed, especially in disaster-stricken and war-torn areas. Data extracted from the imagery is used to create maps of various attributes (such as vegetation) that can be used for one-time projects, long-term monitoring, and change detection. Additional information will be presented on their upcoming WorldView3 satellite launching in 2014 and the products generated by DigitalGlobe’s Analysis Center. DigitalGlobe is looking for strategic partners to develop new and useful applications using the information contained within their imagery. For more information, please visit http://www.digitalglobe.com or contact Brett Thomassie (DigitalGlobe LA/MS Operations) at bthomassie@digitalglobe.com or (303) 588-4129.
